I wrote last night that I have possible aplastic anemia. It is also possible that is more like myelodysplasia, as all types of blood cells have a low count, and some of the red cells are not shaped correctly. I am not officially anemic yet, but my platelet count is dangerously low, and the Doctor expects all the counts to go lower over time. All I know for sure right now is that my condition did not repond to suppression of the immune system, so it is not ITP. The possible medical treatments for this condition are entirely out of my financial possibilities, and I am looking for alternatives.
Does anyone know anything about this condition and whether Carao might help?

I was diaginoized with mds back in Oct. 2009.
Iam on aranesp which did not do what the dr. expected. I have refused the next step treatment which the dr. said may help.
I am on my third bottle of carao juice and cannot say yet if it is helping or not,but I will keep you pasted.
I have been having transfusions every three weeks, but moved up to two weeks this past week. my red blood count was down to 7 a few weeks ago... then three weeks after the transfusion it was back down to 7.6
this is not a very good condition to have, but my trust is in God, and as you said the expensies are very high.
thanks to the good Lord I just received word the lukemia foundation is furnishing 5.000.00 dollars a year toward treatment; does not cover all but helps.
I will remember you in my prayers. I have been born again since 1953 and He has never let me down yet. It;s a good life living for the Lord.
